Andy Warhol’s Former Townhouse Listed for $5.8 Million

Andy Warhol‘s prewar Lexington Avenue townhouse is on the market. The iconic artist lived in the 4 bedroom property, located at 1342 Lexington Avenue, from 1959 and 1974 and used the ground floor as his studio.

According to a children’s book written by Warhol’s nephew entitled “Uncle Andy’s: A faabbbulous visit with Andy Warhol,” the artist reportedly shared the townhouse with his mother, 25 cats named Sam and a host of objects he used for his paintings, like Campbell’s Soup cans and Brillo packages. But today, the unit comes equipped with modern luxuries such as dual Sub-Zero fridges, Sub-Zero wine storage, Wolf induction cooktop and dual Wolf wall ovens, double Miele dishwashers, as well as Miele coffee maker and microwave.
