Photo Credit: Eric Soltan <\/span><\/p>\nArchetype Architecture\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n To design a space with character and keep it timeless, we have six rules.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Create a strong focal point to make a room more inviting.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Design symmetrical rooms\u00a0that\u00a0create a sense of balance. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Select classic patterns such as stripes, plaids,\u00a0botanicals,\u00a0or damasks. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Avoid\u00a0trends because once the trend has expired, they will date a room. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hide technology by keeping them behind closed doors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Use quality furniture,\u00a0fabrics,\u00a0and accessories that will stand the test of time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Nielsen Collection\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n To avoid compromising character within a timeless space, we layer materials that elevate interest. \u00a0A neutral palette is chosen using natural materials such as stone, and complemented with fresh contemporary and artful furnishings.\u00a0<\/span>By layering multiple elements we create spaces that not only intrigue but provide a timeless and congenial environment.\u00a0<\/span>Here, we chose to flank the fireplace with water features creating a soothing effect and also added a playful element with the accent chair. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n CI Design + Build<\/strong><\/p>\n These are the three principles we follow to maintain our designs timeless:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Leslie Saul & Associates<\/strong><\/p>\n A timeless design MUST have character.
