At its center was Minoru Yamasaki\u2019s\u00a01966 Century Plaza Hotel, a mid-century masterpiece that served as a second home to Hollywood glitterati\u2014power players and stars\u00a0who closed deals, tied the knot, and received countless awards in the downstairs ballroom. The hotel is rooted deep in history, spanning numerous high\u00a0profile events and guests that include Ronald and Nancy\u00a0Reagan, Andy\u00a0Williams,\u00a0and Walt and Lillian Disney.\u00a0 It was home to the Grammy Awards in 1970 and 1971 and the Emmy Awards in 1967.<\/p>\n

Fifty years\u00a0later, Century City remains a haven of A-list talent agencies, top-tier entertainment companies, world-class retail, and some of the best commercial real estate\u00a0in the city.\u00a0\u00a0Its history is preserved and\u00a0restored to grandeur by an award winning team. This central hive of activity was always known as a great place to work and shop, while many\u00a0Angeleno\u00a0influencers lived in\u00a0gated estates\u00a0in\u00a0Beverly Hills and Bel Air, it took the vision of real estate investor and developer Michael Rosenfeld, CEO of Woodridge Capital Partners, to redefine \u00a0this Century City neighborhood with a new standard of luxury living and amenities.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Century Plaza Hotel\u00a0will be\u00a0operated by Fairmont\u00a0and will include 63 branded residences.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Marmol Radziner retained the 400-room hotel\u2019s glorious New Formalism through grand gestures, restoring the canopy above the porte cochere and replacing the 700 sliding glass doors to look nearly identical to the originals, while meeting the highest of environmental standards. The Fairmont Century Plaza lobby is welcoming to\u00a0all with an open breezeway that allows\u00a0the flow of air and light into its interior\u00a0lounges, gardens, and rooftop pool and bar.<\/p>\n

For exclusive luxury, two soft-edged, symmetrical triangles scrape the sky behind the concave sweep of the iconic hotel. These two\u00a044-\u00a0towers by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners pay homage to Yamasaki\u2019s\u00a0masterpieces, but are most definitely\u00a0a wonderful addition to\u00a0Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Century Plaza will also\u00a0feature\u00a0over 95,000\u00a0square feet\u00a0of bespoke restaurants and boutique\u00a0retail, including\u00a0three\u00a0flagship pavilions facing Avenue of the Stars to serve\u00a0future\u00a0residents,\u00a0and visitors alike. \u00a0The front\u00a0retail\u00a0plaza will include a 23 foot sculpture from acclaimed Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa, immersive water elements, and a new promenade brought up to street level for\u00a0seamless\u00a0walkability from Avenue of the Stars to the shops and the hotel lobby.\u00a0\u00a0 This\u00a0path will continue through the landmark lobby and into the rear plaza which will\u00a0house\u00a0a mix of second floor\u00a0retail\u00a0and restaurant spaces that\u00a0seamlessly\u00a0connect to the new Westfield Century Mall across the street,\u00a0creating\u00a0a true pedestrian thoroughfare.<\/p>\n
