“The Manor,” 594 South Mapleton Drive<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Designed by architects James Langenheim & Associates, the 1988-built French chateau-style residence in Holmby Hills, California, has a price tag of $200 million, according to the listing by Hilton & Hyland<\/a>. That\u2019s only $50 million less than the brand-new construction at 924 Bel Air Road<\/a>, nicknamed \u201cThe Eighth Wonder of the World.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The massive 56,500-square-foot home at 594 South Mapleton Drive sits on approximately five acres and is 15,000 square feet larger than the more expensive Bel Air mansion. Built by late TV producer Aaron Spelling, it is the largest private residence in Los Angeles, as the listing notes.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The seller, British heiress Petra Ecclestone Stunt, who purchased the home for $85 million in 2011, renovated the 123-room mansion, with 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms, for a total cost of approximately $30 million. She installed a two-lane bowling alley, nightclub, wine cellar, gym, beauty salon, and 100-car parking space, among many other lavish additions.<\/p>\n
