Season 15 of MTV’s<\/em> long-running reality show, The Real World<\/em> was filmed in the historic city of Philadelphia. Contestants during the season that aired from\u00a02004 to 2005 were housed at\u00a0249 Arch Street, which has recently been sold for a reported $5 million.<\/p>\n

An adjacent parking lot was also included in the sale.<\/p>\n

Constructed in 1902, the\u00a0building was once a bank, before becoming the backdrop for\u00a0The Real World: Philadelphia<\/em>. It features\u00a015,000 square feet of space throughout its three levels.<\/p>\n

The buyer of the properties is Christopher Aker, who plans to use the former residential space as an office space for his technology company Linode<\/a>.\u00a0“I\u2019m proud of having bought the building, and I feel like we\u2019re going to save this thing,” Aker told Philadelphia Business Journal<\/em><\/a>. “I hope the community appreciates it as well. We will leave it in a better condition than we found it.”<\/p>\n

Linode, which has been credited with helping to “define the cloud hosting industry,\u201d was founded in\u00a0Galloway, New Jersey, in 2003, and expects to add\u00a050 to 70 new employees over the course of the next few years. There are an estimated 85 Linode employees currently.<\/p>\n
