A relocating East Coast doctor made a house call to buy Mariah Carey<\/strong> and Nick Cannon\u2019s<\/strong> Bel Air mansion for $9 million in the nick of time\u2014just as the separated couple is finalizing their divorce. Or is it?<\/p>\n

While on the surface it appears the\u00a0superstar “We Belong Together” singer and the actor\/host of America\u2019s Got Talent<\/em>\u00a0are tidying up millions of loose ends for their permanent marital separation, now comes word that the\u00a0Cannon is filing a lawsuit, claiming Carey and their business manager Michael Kane<\/strong> kept him in the dark about the deal, according to TMZ.\u00a0So now the surface is as sticky as the behind-the-scenes divorce proceedings.<\/p>\n

Carey and Cannon’s former home wasn’t as welcoming once their breakup was announced.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom Bel Air mansion listed for nearly $13 million, but naturally the celebrity breakup created urgency for a sale. Cannon, however, says not so fast. He officially requested that the $9 million from the mansion sale be frozen until he can review financials\u2014in order to determine exactly how much he\u2019ll receive from the deal, TMZ reports. Property records show the couple paid $6.795 million for the estate so they will both still profit from the sale\u2014separately, of course. The residence was formerly owned by actress Farrah Fawcett<\/strong>, who passed away in 2009. Paul Czako<\/strong> of Gussman Czako Estates had the listing.<\/p>\n

The 11,750-square-foot hilltop home\u00a0is designed around entertaining space, including a double-gated entrance that accommodates hundreds of guests and up to 20 cars. The Hampton\u2019s-style residence features an eclectic mix of interior space, including a formal living room, a grand ski-resort-like Aspen room, and a Moroccan room where Cannon allegedly proposed to Carey during happier times, according to Zillow<\/em>. Coincidentally, one of the couple\u2019s twins is named Moroccan (the other is Monroe).<\/p>\n

There are a couple of dribble rooms\u2014an elegant baby nursery (with a cloud ceiling and of course, a chandelier… we are<\/em> talking Mariah Carey here) and an indoor basketball court (we hope the new owner Doc likes shooting hoops as much as Dr. J does). The house also features six fireplaces, an outdoor putting green, a jetted tub, floors polished to a mirror finish, and a home projection theater. Massive panoramic window views of the Stone Canyon reservoir, downtown Los Angeles, and the Pacific Ocean (all the way to Laguna Beach) are visible from the master suite and the living room, which opens up to a spacious outdoor deck, open pavilion, extra-long black bottom\u00a0pool, and lush oversized backyard area where tents can be pitched.<\/p>\n
