At luxury milliner\u00a0Philip Treacy’s Spring\/Summer 2013 runway presentation at\u00a0London Fashion Week, Designer\u00a0Moritz Waldemeyer\u00a0has collaborated with luxury milliner Philip Treacy to create\u00a0a unique hat which incorporates whirring light-emitting diodes (commonly known as LED lights). The resulting creation gives the illusion of an otherworldly, glowing hat.<\/p>\n

Waldemeyer has created a number of pieces which incorporate LEDs into sartorial designs; he recently made a high-profile splash when he was tapped to create 140 costumes for the closing ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics. The costumes themselves were embedded with LEDs that flashed in time with a choreographed light show.<\/p>\n

The hat made in collaboration with Treacy comprises six blades, each with a strip of LEDs, that are attached to a propellor which when in motion creates a halo-like effect by moving the illuminated blades at high speed.\u00a0In addition to the hat, Waldemeyer and Treacy also collaborated on a basket-like cloak which covers the wearer from head-to-toe in 6,000 incorporated LED lights.\u00a0These designs were made for \u00a0and were featured at London Fashion Week.<\/p>\n
