Dennis Quaid<\/a> has been spending more time in Texas to be closer to family, so he recently sold his Pacific Palisades equestrian estate <\/a>for $9.5 million.<\/p>\n

Quaid, who will be staring in the upcoming thriller \u201cBeneath the Darkness,\u201d and comedy \u201cWhat to Expect When You\u2019re Expecting\u201d originally had the 2,158-square-foot home listed for $16.9 million when it came on the market in March, but was subsequently reduced to $10 million and finally sold for half a million below asking price.<\/p>\n

The 8,400-square-foot main house is a French country-style estate, which was built in 2004 and features eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms. There is also a beam-ceilinged living room, a family room, office, a wine cellar and maids\u2019 quarters located above the kitchen which Quaid converted into a fitness room. The grounds of the home also include a private horse and hiking path, which lead to the Will Rogers Park.<\/p>\n

A second house and studio on the property contain 2,1580-square-feet of living space with a swimming pool and spa.<\/p>\n

According to reports, Quaid, 57, purchased the home after his new wife (who moved from Texas to be with him) wanted a home that wasn\u2019t too \u201csuburban.\u201d<\/p>\n
